I might be more observant, but I doubt it.
I find more people - mostly young - walk down the street, without any knowledge of the traffic approaching, and in the travel lane. While this is inherently dangerous, the attitude of not paying intention appears to be due to stupidity. To exacerbate this problem, many are walking with their heads down, while they examine their cell phone.
The only cure for this problem involves logical thinking. I'm afraid such efforts are becoming more difficult for too many people.
Darwin effect at work.
ReplyDeleteIt is. The candidates for the award must be growing.
DeleteCondition white. I see it all the time.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, a certain demographic is starting to take advantage of it... Knockout Game and other attacks are easy when your prey is absorbed in a 3x5 screen and wearing headphones.
Sad.
Sad and stupid, actually.

With many, it's as though they're daring someone to hit them. What they don't realize is that walking in the travel lane, in dark cloths, in low light conditions leads to accidents; not intentional efforts.

ReplyDeleteAnother 'cure' involves driver of said vehicle who also becomes entranced with their cell phone.
There needs to be an official term for this event. "Dumbass Twins" doesn't sound scientific, although "Duo Stultus Asinus Syndrome" might work.
