It's 5:19 pm, the temperature outside is 99, and the relative humidity is 53%. Plugging those numbers into a calculator brings the heat index to 118 degrees. This is way too early for this, and I'm not looking forward to the next week of this forecast by the weather wizards.
Dunno where you are, but it sounds really hard. About four or five years ago we completely bypassed Spring and went right into Summer. Triple digits were common. We are supposed to be getting in the 105 range this week, in Longview Texas. I'm not above getting the hose and shooting water up to let it land on me.. Gotta get the pool open soon.
ReplyDeleteThe nearest larger town is Beaumont. With the heat this early, the Gulf will be hot enough for tropical development before the usual time. This can mean a big storm, a bunch of wet tropical waves, or heat until an early front in the Fall.
ReplyDeleteToday, we have more clouds, which sometimes indicates the heat will push enough moisture through the upper ridge. If so, some brief storms full of lightning can be produced.
