In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

Hidden Costs

Trucking is much different than it was only a few years ago. Restrictive regulations weed out what was anticipated as the dangerous truck drivers, but in the process, some good truck drivers can't get a commercial license, and their replacements may only have youth, and truck driving school credentials as their qualifications. With less drivers than needed, the only carrot for recruiting is more money, which increases costs, and the costs are passed on to the consumer.

I don't know where this will end, but we're all paying with higher prices. With a less mobile society demanding delivery to their front door, the prices are guaranteed to become higher. Those with a tight budget, or fixed income, will find meeting their monthly costs increasingly more difficult. Increasing fuel costs only exacerbate the problem, and there doesn't seem to be any relief in sight.

One other thing: Those that think a highly regulated, school trained truck driver is better might want to look at the results of these actions. Experience doesn't arrive with a piece of paper, and with treacherous congestion in urban areas, the inexperience leads to traffic problems, oppressive harassment by government entities, and the loss of good drivers that had enough. Even younger drivers don't want the constant headaches, and some couldn't be coerced back into the trade with exorbitant wages.

It's Mostly Manure

I keep hearing about the "damning" report we're supposed to see in the near future from the Inspector General. It may be damning, but considering the known illegal actions by some former, and current denizens of the Ivory Towers, if the Department of Justice decides to still sit on its hands, the report is just more worthless million dollar paper.

I have little faith in our current government. It's full of reprobates, Communists, Socialists, bureaucrats, and worst of all: politicians. Until they throw a few dozen of the crooks under the jail, I doubt my almost absent faith in government will be restored.

Things Accepted, or Allowed

Our society accepts, or allows many things destructive to a free society:

- Politicians that don't do everything within their power to keep costs reduced, and ignore ridiculous demands by small special interest groups.

- Monetary policies that are under the control of those willing to subvert our currency for personal gain.

- An education system run my Marxists, and others that promoted failed. tyrannical political philosophies.

- A media that uses its power to destroy free thinking and promote the removal of personal liberty.

- Bureaucrats with powers not controlled by those that pay their salaries.

- Science based on personal opinion and corrupted data.

- Judges that ignore rights, legislate from the bench, and use their power to destroy the Constitution.

- Accepts a system of justice that allows those with money, or power, to avoid prosecution.

- Allows illegal aliens to invade.

- Ignores the problems that create the seeking of abortion, and promotes the act most find abhorrent.

The list goes on. The problems continue, and it's all business as usual for those that chose evil to guide their beliefs, and actions.

It's Not Self-Perpetuating

Another school shooting is now the focus of the media. The tragedy is exploited, covered all hours of the day, and the basic reasons for the shootings are ignored: Attention, and notoriety. There's the real tragedy. The acts of an irrational individual are given more attention than more serious problems to make some revenue, boost ratings, and give an unreasonable amount of network news outlets another story. The disturbed shooter is given billions in media coverage, and rewarded for their effort.

It's ironic that news agencies ignore how many U.S. cities have the same amount of murders daily, the politicians continue their errors, and the citizens faced with the dangers are not only expected to accept the policies, they're expected to vote the same reprobates back into office - and the citizens do just that.

Society is ill, but the pathogen is a destructive media. Time will tell if this changes, but as long as the outlets can gain revenue from the tragedies they help create, this will continue.

Power Corrupts

John McCain is dying. The media is letting us know this day by day, and if you're ignorant, you'd think he had some special significance.

John McCain's legacy is being directly involved with major destruction of an aircraft carrier, losing an expensive jet by ignoring normal tactics, being captured by the enemy, not being liked by many of his fellow prisoners, using his capture for political capitol, and spending decades as a career politician. His political career is spotted with corruption, betrayal to his party, and betrayal to his constituents. His dislike of the President includes peddling a fake dossier to destroy the presidency.

The media is using McCain for story, and McCain is using the media to continue his petty character assassination attempts of the President. Neither has integrity, and neither understand there are enough find them reprehensible.

Summary of Current Thoughts

Hawaii has a volcanic eruption in process. Nobody is really surprised. Those most affected realize their crossed fingers didn't help, and Pele is probably pissed at the sorry liberals that run the state government.... Maybe they should throw a few dozen bureaucrats into the Kilauea to see if that would help. It definitely can't hurt.

The majority of the media still hates Trump, and don't realize most people realize their goals. I don't have much hope time will change this. Hopefully enough of the outlets will lose so much money from loss of viewers, the stock holders will whip them in line with pink slips.

Muellor is still meddling, nobody will fire him, and the money he spent should be taken out of his paycheck, and retirement....I know it's not enough to cover the cost, but it's the thought that counts.

Eggs are now good for you; even if you have high cholesterol.

Trump ended the preliminary agreement hashed out by the Obama gang. I really don't know why they called it an agreement, since Iran refused to sign it in the beginning.

North Korea released three U.S. citizens held captive. Considering how Obama received a Nobel Peace Prize for just being black, and a politician, Trump should receive a few dozen for his efforts. If they decide to not award him one, he can probably find something just as valuable in a box of Cracker Jacks.

It's too hot, and dry, for May, with the usual dry month of June around the corner. At the rate summer is shaping up, it will be dry, extra hot, and way too long.
