In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

I Have the Answer

I was reading an article on how quiet this hurricane season has been. To summarize the article, the weather wizards are scratching their heads and don't have an answer. I do. It's because they foolishly don't realize all their computers, historical data, education, and experience mean nothing if the Sun doesn't cooperate with their predictions. That, and throwing in a few volcano eruptions makes their predictions become basically garbage.

  1. equal and opposite reaction. they are screwing with the weather elsewhere, notably over texas and north dakota. their flights over africa can gin up a small low pressure but without the moisture that is usually there, it won't go tropical. the moisture has been dropped over the southeast and arizona in unheard-of quantities this year.

    1. Saharan dust was heavy during much of the Summer. That changes the weather tremendously.

  2. It's a weird year. But every year is a weird year.

    1. I agree. I've seen wetter, hotter, milder and colder seasons. Predicting what it does is pretty much a guessing game.

  3. If we are experiencing "climate change", (which I agree is possible), shouldn't we be seeing record highs and lows on almost a daily basise now?
    We aren't.

    1. There were some record highs locally during this Summer. There usually are, and considering how they might only be a degree higher, and the last high was recorded as far back as early in the last century, I can't see how they're indicators of disastrous climate change.
