In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

Watching Beryl

According to the weather forecasters, Beryl will come ashore somewhere around the Texas/Mexico border, and meander northeastward. That will bring us some rain, and it may be more than we want. Time will tell, but we're ready, if the road floods, and have generators, if the power goes off. Padre Island vacations will be shortened, and the wiser folks will leave by tomorrow evening.

  1. It's looking like you may have some increase in precipitation coming your way...

    1. I'll be on the far edge, and the forecast is for up to 5 inches of rain, with wind gusts to near 40 on Monday.
It looks like everything west of San Antonio won't get anything, and the drought will continue.

    1. As of midnight Sunday, the course will have the center passing over the Matagorda area by 4:00 am. That puts me at right outside the areas of tropical force winds. Rain bands will be heavy in the next few hours, and continue through much of the day on Monday. The rain bands are where the worst of the weather will be.
As of right now, it's cloudy, with a light constant breeze from the east. According to reports, the max sustained winds reached 75 mph, so Beryl is officially a hurricane, which has led to a huge sigh of relief, and much jubilation with the Weather Channel folks. It's their better than sex moments, and their eyes are gleaming with joy.
