In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

Day Two of the Series - Heat 10, Me Zip

It was 96 in the shade. Near anything that collects heat, it was over 100. The humidity was 70%. Using the handy dandy heat index calculator on the interwiz, the feel to a human body, or heat index, was around 142 degrees.

Of course, the NWS official temperature was 89 degrees, with a heat index of 102. I'm sure it it, wherever that may be, but it must be somewhere I'm not.

It's the usual: heat cramps, heat chills and lethargy. Don't you love summertime?

Our humidity isn't nearly that high but it's bad enough.

  2. Jess, I feel your pain bro. We lived in the hell they call Florida. Heat index running 160. I am so glad to be back in the frozen tundra of MN. Folks near us run the a/c at 75. I say thank god its still cool. Our cold water here is so cold you can lose the feelings in your body in seconds.

  3. I'm eating electrolyte supplements like candy, drinking pickle juice and still getting cramps that bow me up like a cut worm.
