In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

This Is News?

I won't provide links. All you have to do is look at any major media outlet and you can find articles.

One article is about a famous comedic producer that is a pedophile and was never convicted for molesting his daughter.

The other is about an actor - a good one at that - that overdosed. They'll immortalize him, even if he screwed up royally.

That's not news. The news is the economy still sucks, the immigration crap is just that, Obamacare has harmed millions and the President tweeted a picture of him throwing a football a week after proclaiming he wouldn't let a son play football - if he had one.

The media sucks. They like sensational stories, and avoid the crippling effects of our own government.

  1. I guess I must be the oddball, for I just flat don't give a rodent's behind what the Hollywood set is doing now, or in the past, or frankly, ever. I care about people I know. I care about people I love. I have no point of reference for the lives of the famous. They are so very far removed from mine. And I really, really don't care what that little twit from Canada is up to these days.

    1. I have a very close member of my family that's enamored with the lives of those that entertain. I don't understand the infatuation.

  2. This is a subject of which I moan and groan and complain endlessly. A drug addict dies of an overdose is not worthy of more than thirty seconds of notice. Give me a half hour of basic bond maturities, the next few minutes on the top five dividend companies, and how the war proceeds, and the weather, basic farm reports on crops and the precious metals market and I'm fine. But, that's just me.

    1. I think it's escapism. In the entertainment world, people don't have B.O., annoying habits and the terrible things are only a quick scene.

A quick brushing of the teeth, turn out the lights another day passes in a world without reality.

  3. Actors overdosing. Sounds like a career hazard.

    1. The damage to the immediate families is what's most tragic. You never hear much about that, unless there's a way to capitalize on the grief.
