Yesterday, the high temperature was 34 degrees, which pained me considerably, because I'm a weenie, due to my geographical location. I went home feeling as though I spent the day finishing concrete, which I'm guessing is due to spending the day trying to hide from the cold.( I wasn't successful )
It's 23 this morning and we're to reach the mid 40's, which will be downright pleasant. We pay for the warmth at the end of the week with rain and generally sloppy conditions.
In Case You've Wondered
My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.
If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com
One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.
I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

It's all relative. Years ago when I spent time in the south, I was fairly certain that the heat and humidity were going to kill me off.
ReplyDeleteI usually find the winter months much more pleasant than the summer months, since it rarely gets below freezing and many days require only a jacket in the morning.
DeleteSummer, as much as some people like it, is a time of misery for me. The heat and humidity can be as deadly as the worse of cold, dry weather.
One of my guys said we were going to hit the forties this weekend. I asked which way?
ReplyDeleteSo we will go from sub zero to 40 above in days.
Oddly, this is not one of the curses in Revelation.
Personally, I think the colder temperatures are caused by adding ethanol to gasoline.
DeleteCan't wait for the above zero temps here in the mitten. Sunscreen at the ready!
ReplyDeleteWe started the day at about 45 with heavy clouds and high humidity. By this afternoon, it was 40 with high humidity. That's the temperature and humidity that's miserable. You can stay warm, but it's bone chilling.
DeleteI appreciate the fact that what is extremely cold is truly all relative to what you're used to, however, that said, we've had a great deal of fun at the expense of everyone south of us lately. 30 below is business as usual up here, although past that the dog does seem much more motivated to pick the first pile of snow off the back stoop to poop as opposed to the normal 5 minute potty place picking procedure. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, if you're not used to it, the vagaries of Global Warming can be dangerous. I hope you southpaws stay warm!
Below freezing temperatures can kill, cause water to ruin things, including trees and makes driving a crap shoot. If I was used to it, I guess it wouldn't bother me as much, but the whole freezing thing makes me apprehensive.
