In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

Dropping Like Flies

My sister-in-law, who is the widow of my brother, lost her mother this week. She was fighting cancer and cancer won.

This is one of the things that age brings; and nobody can prepare for the onslaught of losing people they love.

God bless her and may she find some moments where the sorrow doesn't overwhelm.

  1. Unfortunately and sadly, I am in the age group where funerals will be attended more than weddings. I buried my last sibling in October and have a few friends with the Big C fighting right now. Being old is not for pussies.

    1. Yep. I

f I'd known I was going to live this long, I think I would have taken better care of myself.

  2. Letting a family member or friend know they are in our prayers during those trying times helps. Sadly, I have been the beneficiary of those more than I would wish.

    1. I'm thinking I need to write a book about such things. I'll title it:

      "Dying Sucks"

  3. Always sad to lose a loved one. Cancer is evil and spares few. Sorry for your family loss Jess.

    1. Thank you.

I'm getting used to the events and I think that's what's most upsetting.
