In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

Getting Up To Speed

I've been reading some of my posts, with some back in 2011. As far as I can tell, things haven't really changed that much, but according to news reports, we're supposed to think they are. To summarize:

- The national debt is still rising

- The Middle East is in turmoil

- Congress is still feckless and filled with fleshy headed mutants.

- Judges are still legislating from the bench with impunity.

- The worth of the dollar shrinks daily

- People on a fixed income are still behind due to the ridiculous way the cost of living is calculated.

- Terrorist are still out there, and there may be more than ever

- Illegals are still gaming the system, and doing so with impunity

- The media is mostly on the wrong side of right.

- Corruption in the public sector is rampant.

- The education system is only turning out functional idiots.

I could go on, but the main point is 2011 is fifteen years ago, and regardless of who is President, the moral foundation of the United States has eroded to the point dishonesty is considered "business as usual". If there is any punishment, it's basically a slap on the wrist.

So, you're up to speed, and it appears the road is bumpy.

  1. Most of those things that were true in 2011 were probably true when Augustus decided all the empire should be enrolled

    1. Biblical accounts of past civilizations parallel much of what we see today. The more things change; the more they stay the same.
