In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

Feckless, Supposed Leadership

If Congress wasn't a money grubbing, feckless, cowardly body of supposed politicians, the likes of Pelosi, Waters, McCain, and others just as ridiculous in their actions, would be censored, or outright thrown out of Congress. In any other endeavor requiring balanced, logical efforts, this type of insanity would never be tolerated.

The Big Unanswered Question

It's known the Clinton campaign paid for a dossier from an organization known for fabricating false narratives and ruthlessly using the information to destroy credibility and positions. That, and it's known high ranking administrative officials in the FBI colluded to influence, and take part, in an investigation founded on the fake information from the dossier. That, and released classified information, while deliberately shutting down a criminal investigation of Hillary Clinton.

How far were they willing to go to stop a presidency? More lies? More efforts to corrupt justice? Maybe even assassination? We may never know, but if I was Trump, I wouldn't be cordial, or restrained. I'd be after my enemies, and ruthless with my actions. Some might not call this a coup, but I have a feeling there are many involved that had that as a contingency. A less polite society would have heads on a pole.

Two Hens and Tort

A restaurant in Virginia booted the White House press secretary from the premises. The co-owner did so due to her standards, and much coercion from her staff.

This, in my opinion, is completely up to the discretion of the restaurant. No restaurant, or any business, should be forced to serve those they don't want in their establishment. In a perfect world, the incident would be over, and the restaurant could continue feeding its clients. Unfortunately, that won't happen.

The restaurant is being bombarded by negative reviews, and the detractors are from all over the United States. I'm sure the usual ugly remarks and threats are numerous, which can be hard on a business if it has an internet site. The sheer volume of nasty comment, or emails, can choke a server and increase the cost for business.

There are many supporters too, but if the supporters are the usual supporters for those so quick to react without thinking, their not known for their spending, or charity. They'll swear their allegiance, and then shake their head, when the restaurant closes the door.

To add insult to injury, there is another restaurant in Virginia with the same name. Their business may suffer, and if enough damage is done, they may seek the help of a personal injury attorney to reduce the losses.

I doubt the restaurant survives. Such actions, with nationwide coverage, don't end well. The co-owner, and staff, probably thought they were preserving their integrity, which is a noble action. Unfortunately their ignorance may lead to bankruptcy, and unemployment. They choose the battle, but never realized they already lost the war.

Dinosaur Movies

There's a new Jurassic movie just out. The reviews are not really kind, and it appears to leave the door open for a future film.

I wasn't thrilled by any of the sequels to Jurassic Park. It's probably because the parasitic film industry tried to destroy the host, with the hope of huge profits. Still, enough money was made to keep the greed unchecked.

I think I could enjoy a Jurassic movie where the dinosaurs overrun Washington, take over the government, cause mayhem, and the entire nation is threatened. The problem I see is that between McCain, Pelosi, and the other dinosaurs already in Washington, the plot would seem like a remake.

We already have a Jurassic Washington D.C. It would be fun to watch, if I didn't have to work so many hours to pay for the "entertainment", and watch the dinosaurs daily on the television.

Eyes Closed

I've been reading about the invading family children current crisis for the last few days. From what I understand, parents of these children (which are many times not the parents) are separated from the children, when the statutes demand the children are released. After the release, they may be sent to a federal funded day care facility for me to help finance.

Invading a country without permission is not allowed in most countries. In some, they shoot you at the border. It's what keeps a country, and its citizens, sovereign from other nations. Promoting such, or ignoring the laws, is sedition, or treason.

So, if you haven't quite figured this out, scale down the size, and imagine a Guatemalan family knocking on your front door, demanding asylum, and expecting you to allow them to stay, while paying their expenses. I know what I would do, and have a strong feeling over 95% of all people would to the same.

Things I See

I was stopping at a convenience store, when I noticed a pickup navigating through the parking lot with something hanging underneath. I waited on the shoulder, as the truck started to pull to the gas pumps, then decided not, then decided to, and then: they started pulling onto a side street.

Since the parking lot was blocked by a grocery delivery, and the pickup was slowly wandering, I pulled onto the edge of the parking area by the shoulder. I examined the truck as I got out of my own.

The driver now decided to back up. My inspection revealed the tail pipe was dragging the ground, which would probably present a problem as they backed. I turned my head, and walked into the store..

When I left the store, a quick look revealed the driver backed the truck until the tail pipe was under the right rear tire, and that's where they stopped. A young woman opened the passenger door, appeared to be looking for something to do, and never looked at the tail pipe under the tire.

The driver was still in the truck, and didn't appear to be making any effort to see what was wrong.

I  began wondering about the events that led to what I saw. While I couldn't quite fathom why the driver wasn't trying to repair the broken tail pipe hanger, further thought only revealed my lack of understanding of why they parked on the tailpipe.

I left. I can be empathetic and helpful, but it requires some effort on the part of those that need the empathy and help.

Maybe The Worm is Turning

I read a news report that stated Peter Stzrok was escorted from the FBI building. That's an encouraging sign. Stzrok not only didn't want Trump in office, he stated in an email a conspiracy to stop Trump from becoming President. Considering his part in the Clinton email investigation, the Muellor Probe, and efforts to hide his complicity in sedition, his actions bordered on treason.

Maybe Stzrok will finally be charged with a crime. After that happens, there are more bad actors, including Hillary Clinton, that have some illegal activities needing close examination. The evidence is there, and all it will take is Sessions to start the ball in motion.

A Taste of the Tropics

We occasionally receive a taste of the tropics. It's caused by either a low pressure wave, depression, or outright tropical storm. It's different than any other weather, and interesting to observe.

Forecasters have warned of possible torrential rains for days. The original start was forecast on Friday, but as the tropical wave slowed, the forecast called for the worst of the rains to start late Sunday into Tuesday.

I woke this morning to what I call popcorn showers. These numerous showers start in the Gulf, migrate North, and sometimes turn into thunderstorms further inland. Nearer to the coast, they pass quickly, usually don't have much rain, and a short wait will lead to another.

The humidity was high, and the temperature only reached about 80 degrees overnight. With the high humidity, what is usually the coolest time of the day is perceived as hot, and little activity produces a heavy sweat.

This afternoon radar shows the showers are more numerous. As the system becomes closer, the light rain will be almost constant, and occasional heavy showers will lead to the start of the accumulation of rain. By tomorrow, if the weather acts as usual, the ground will become saturated, and the constant rain will be driven by steady winds in excess of 20 mph. Flooding is possible, and some places may be inundated with more than 8 inches of rain.

When the system finally moves away in the middle of the week, the temperature in the 90's, occasional thunderstorms, and brutal sun will make the days miserable. Those days are the worst. Working is hampered by mud, the steamy conditions after the showers only make the heat index rise, and the promise of a few days of this weather only add to the misery.

No Big Deal

So, the IG report is out. It reinforces what was already known, or suspected, and shows many criminal activities were accomplished by those in office, or in a high supervisory position with the government.

It's no big deal. The gnashing of teeth, posturing, finger pointing, and general fecklessness will start. Those that a less polite society would have sentenced for life at hard labor will skate, as usual. That's how the government works, and it won't change.

A Little Rain, But No Relief

Yesterday, we had a shower in the evening. Before the sun could heat again, it set, which allowed some cooling overnight.

This morning, we had a brief, heavy downpour, which left it cool for a short period of time, but this afternoon there is no relief.

It's 3:30, the temperature is 90, and the heat index is 99. This is much different than an actual temperature of 99, with low humidity. There is no relief in the shade. The humidity doesn't allow much evaporation, so the sweat accumulates, and the misery increases.

Tomorrow offers higher temperatures, high humidity, and more of the really uncomfortable afternoon we've experienced. I have to watch the crew, and insure they don't burn out. Starting at 6:00 am helps. The extra hour of relatively cooler air is probably the most productive hour during the day. After 2:00 pm, the heat can be too much, and any production is minimal. We usually stop around 3:00, and avoid the afternoon heat that causes so much stress, one night of rest doesn't give enough relief.

The oppressive heat of summer came early this year. Whether it continues, without the usual afternoon rains, is to be seen. I've experienced a summer where the afternoon temperatures hovered around 105 for weeks. It was a summer where heat was deadly, and many were so influenced by heat exhaustion, they had to go to the hospital.

Derelict Pukes

I see, or read about too many derelict pukes. They have no source of income, except what they steal, or derive from public assistance, and they are involved with too many crimes.

So, what to do about these parasites? My solution are harsh, so I won't elaborate.

One of Two Things

The last administration is now known to be well involved with activities that were unethical at best, and illegal at worst. Although lower level employees were involved, it's now apparent the most senior officials were also involved.

I think there are only two possibilities on the involvement of the former President in these activities. Either he was blissfully unaware, or he had full knowledge of what was going on. Time will tell, but either only further tarnishes the reputation of Obama. His policies, efforts to subvert the Constitution, and ignore existing laws are known facts to support his incompetence, or sedition. Adding efforts to destroy the candidacy of a member of the opposing party pushes his actions into the area of treason.

Wrong Interpretation

Too many people believe diversity in the workforce is necessary. Why? Because they're led to buy what the word merchants are selling. Diversity is not synonymous with skill, and regardless of what any politician, or bureaucrat tells you, demanding diversity doesn't always have good results.

This attorney found the goal of diversity led to dangerous conditions for air travelers.  His law suit contends the diversity choices of those hiring air traffic controllers imperiled those that travel by air. If I had to guess, I'd say he's right. Diversity in all other aspects of hiring have led to incompetence at an unconscionable level.

I hope the suit reveals, and punishes, the attitude that diversity is more important than qualifications. While the safety aspect is more demanding of solutions than other reasons, those that deal with the incompetence of diversity at other levels have serious problems too. Incompetent representatives of government entities, or private institutions, can bankrupt, or destroy lives.

Until the ridiculous idea that more diversity is more necessary than ability is ended, the failure of schools to educate will continue, businesses will suffer, and all government entities will continue to be abysmal failures. There will be no excellence when mediocrity due to some cosmetic reason is more important.
