In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

Infrastructure and Incompetence

It's becoming common for news reports about water system problems in my hometown. I left there years ago, except to take care of my mother during her last years, but I read local news about the town. Problems with the water appear too often, and it's obvious the EEO/DEI quagmire of incompetent officials has turned what should be healthy water into something that needs boiling. Of course, the diverse/racist bunch of incompetent boobs pontificate on their supposed efforts to take care of problems, but reality shows their ridiculous efforts led to those with money leaving, mishandling of public funds, and a failing infrastructure. From my past experiences, such problems won't lead to anything but bandaging bad components, until grants are acquired, or taxes are raised. It's the plight of too many cities, and the scourge of the United States.

Cause and Effect

A local city is kicking around a method to improve their water, and sewer, infrastructure. They raised their rates last year, and according to citizens, it didn't do anything. Some want the rates to be raised, and some want to borrow the money. Both options mean the money collected was either never enough, or was used for another purpose. My opinion is it was wasted on administrative costs not associated with anything other than shuffling paper, employee perks, underfunded pensions, and the general complete lack of fiscal responsibility by those in government. The decision, regardless of what it is, will lead to more people leaving, less tax money due to devaluation of real estate, more bureaucracy, and another nail in the coffin of fiscal health. It's the city way. I'm glad I don't live there, and glad I never had the loss of clarity and wanting to move there.

What We Put Up With

Jet lag is considered unhealthy. Sleep problems happen immediately and the disruption of the circadian rhythm problems can last a long time. Daylight Saving is like jet-lag, except we're supposed to ignore the effects, soldier on, and put up with the insane, meandering whims of those that legislate, and obfuscate.

This Is How It Works

Jimmy Carter was President in the late seventies. They were terrible years for the economy, national security suffered, and the bureaucracy grew. Inflation reached double digits and the interest on borrowing followed the same path. People could get loans, but few wanted pay interest that was around 16% when it peaked. The U.S. learned a lesson, but unfortunately, after forty years, the lesson was forgotten, and we had to deal with another feckless Democrat President. In my opinion, this is a forty year cycle that will be repeated until the political parties follow the Constitution and demand everyone hired, serving, or on the bench do the same.

I'll probably never see another President as bad as Carter, or Biden. Two time was two times too many.

Fani in a Sling

I think Fani Willis through ignorance, or outright maliciousness, decided it was a good thing to prosecute Trump without any legal authority. It's now put her ass in a sling, but I think the public deserves to have the funds she wasted returned. That, and her license removed, prosecution for her conduct, and never allowed anywhere near a court room again. She deserves worse, but at this point, it's enough. Maybe the future will show her legacy is filled with more than just being removed from a case.

I Think This Will Turn Into a Mistake

The proposed new government agency which is supposed to make the government more efficient will be hiring. Otherwise, another agency will be created, which will be run by the government, and I doubt anyone that has more brains than a house plant will believe it won't become another bureaucratic money pit. Congress is supposed to do that job, and it's the President's job to reign in spending without the aid of another bureaucracy. Regardless of the plan to have the agency disappear after the job is done, I don't believe that will ever happen. It's like drinking alcohol to fight cirrhosis of the liver.

This Article Made Me Laugh

Bill Clinton states he couldn't sleep for two years after Hillary lost. He doesn't admit the real reason, but his excuse probably keeps Hillary from nagging him day and night. In most situations, I might feel a little compassion for someone with such problems, but with him, if it's like being in Gitmo with loud pop music being played for 24 hours each day, it's only a small sample of the punishment he deserves.

Culling the Herd

We'll see how many of the bureaucrats, and other parasites on taxpayers, are culled from the public teat. It all sounds good, especially since the drain on funds is unsustainable, but regardless of opinion, my experience in life tells me it's mostly political promises that will never be kept. I know this sounds cynical, but in my sixty-plus years of being on this planet, I've never seen the Federal Government shrink in size, defeat inflation, not buy votes with taxpayer money, or pull the leash on agencies that abuse rights daily. Time will tell, and I pray things will become better, but until it happens, I will be cynical.

An Old Adage

Fani Willis, who is attempting to prosecute Donald Trump by methods beyond what is allowed by jurisprudence, has now been showed to have lied about her romantic relationship with a hired attorney. It's a fine example of the old adage "You don't screw the help" and at the rate she's going, she not only faces contempt charges, she might have her law license removed, which will end her legal career. Maybe she can learn to code.

Democracy and the Electoral College

I once heard Democracy described as two pedophiles, and a young child, voting on the age of consent. It's an extreme example, but accurate.

Today, the Electoral College tallies the votes, and state's rights are once again secured against the large urban centers with few understanding the concerns of the states with smaller populations. Many don't like this, but they probably haven't a clue about the reason for the Electoral College and the concerns of the founders of the United States. They'll complain, and continue in their attempt to erode the Constitution.

These are interesting times, but necessary. With the last eight years of quasi-socialism, the majority of people in the U.S. are not happy, and they showed their displeasure by electing a President without years in politics. That's a good thing, and I hope this expands with more entrenched politicians being removed from their feathered nests. Too many political entities are broke from pandering, and it's time for lifetime political tenure to end.

The Quandary of Corruption

After years of management, I've observed people at both ends of the spectrum, and how they perform their tasks. While there are many methods, only two important distinctions can be applied to all: right and wrong. Either a person is willing to correct mistakes to do things the right way, or they're willing to do anything to absolve responsibility for bad decisions, or actions; and the methods to handle this usually don't shine a favorable light on the person.

Hillary Clinton erased emails she said were not important. Her further explanation detailed those she erased were frivolous, with the content only involving the wedding of her daughter, the death of her mother, or yoga techniques. Investigation revealed she destroyed records of communications with her aides, and the emails were about business of The Department of State. Her action of erasing these emails not only violated policies she swore to uphold, they violate criminal statutes.

So now, the evidence is accumulating, many members of the Department of State obviously are involved, and it's likely the F.B.I. investigation will lead to a recommendation for charges, indictments and prosecution.

Loretta Lynch is the Attorney General with the power to bring evidence to a grand jury. With what's known, honest people will  think she has no other options, and must pursue indictments, but there's the opinion she won't, which leads to her quandary: Should she continue pursuing the agenda of her political beliefs, which allows a lack of integrity? Or should she do what's right, and honor her oath to uphold the laws of the United States?

Time will tell what she does, but even if she doesn't pursue charges, there is the possibility of future Attorney Generals finding her malfeasance as criminal, and she could have her pension removed at best, or spend time in jail, with monetary fines.

She has a quandary, has the eyes of a nation on her actions, and will face many problems, however she decides to act.

Chihuahuas and Politicians.

I've noticed politicians are much like Chihuahuas. They come in any color, many are smart, some are dumb, they can be loyal, but they can also be vicious. In the long run, even though some Chihuahuas will fight to the death for their master, they won't scare who needs to be scared; and even dangerous folks fear a smart German Shepherd.

I know the analogy is not the best, but it's what crossed my mind, after reading some of the news reports on the current Presidential candidates. The entire mess is becoming tiring, and I wonder how many people realize how most candidates are unemployed, or not doing their job.

Election Cycle?

"Cycle" is defined as a serious of repeating events. At one time, it was an accurate description of the process of electing a President. Since this is now a constant event, electing the President is now an "election drudgery".

You're welcome. Now you can better define your irritation at the constant bombardment of hype, rhetoric, and stupidity.

_ and I have to add a comment on the candidates: They don't sweat, they don't have blemishes, they wear makeup, and not a hair is out of place. It's like we're electing someone to accept the Academy Award, instead of someone to run the United States. We don't elect Presidents anymore; we elect the best supporting actor, or actress, in a movie loosely based on reality.

What Do You Think They Have on Ryan?

I'm wondering what they have on Paul Ryan to make him refuse to allow the citizens of the U.S. to peruse the bill he wants all Congress to sign, without reading. Something illegal? Immoral? Maybe he was a sleeper, and they finally said the magic word that put him in action.

Whatever it is, he might as well call Jeffords and ask how it is on the dark side. That, and watch his back. I have the feeling his enemies now far outweigh his friends.

Are You Surprised?

News reports are full of articles about hacking of government files, incompetence of government employees, ridiculous wastes of taxpayer money, and the never ending diatribes of the underbelly of society, which we call politicians.

Are you surprised this is all we can expect of any type of government entity? I'm not. There's not a one that can justify half their expenditures, a quarter of their employees, and even those with more sense than a garden vegetable have no avenue for culling the herd of incompetent bureaucrats.

Is their a solution? History shows there is, and it's not pretty.

Rifts, Wedges, and Opportunity

A news report states Valerie Jarret leaked the information about Hillary Clinton's emails. This shows a huge rift in the Democratic Party, and the opportunity to drive wedges between members of the party.

In my view, this affords a small glimpse into the brutal character assassination efforts of the Democratic Party leadership. Not only are they willing to destroy their opponents, they're willing to destroy those that don't follow in lockstep with their current agenda.

Time will tell how this works out, but the opportunity to split the party, cause havoc, and remove a substantial amount of the their control is there for the taking.

Tired of the Lying

Hillary lied before, is notorious for stretching the truth, and has a past that would land most people in prison. Now she's lying about the emails.

So, how dumb are too many U.S. citizens for even considering her a Presidential nominee? In my book, as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Ignore the Woman Behind the Curtain
May 18, 2014

Politics are full of subterfuge, obfuscation and downright lies. Both parties have their experts at the process and both parties like to play the general public like they're rubes at the casino.

With that in mind, any attempt to portray Hillary Clinton as a Presidential contender is nothing more than a political sleight of hand. They'll tease the public for months, too many will believe what they read, and she'll either announce she's not running, or they'll crucify her before the nomination. At that time, they'll come up with their favored politician and start the hard sell, with half-truths and outright lies. Bill Clinton will insure she doesn't have a chance, since his ego is "smarter" than his mind.

The Democratic Party has nothing to offer, will have nothing to offer, and anyone that believes otherwise is as dumb as a box of rocks.

The Republican Party won't be much better; especially if the entrenched Washington denizens of the Ivory Tower continue to ignore those that can save their party.

So what do you do? Hold your nose, vote for the best of the bad choices and pay close attention to your representatives. They can be manipulated, since they have to go home; sooner or later.

False Patriotism

I usually don't like pointing out faults, since we all have them, and we all can learn from the mistakes of others, but I'm tired of false patriots that refuse to turn the channel on their televisions, cancel the subscription to local papers and refuse to do business with those that they know subscribe to the progressive agenda aka today's Democratic Party. Feeding the beast will not weaken it.

The media is one of the biggest reasons the United States is where most of the citizens are not represented by those they send to Washington to take care of the business of government. Starving those outlets that contribute to the subterfuge and refuse to report the facts is the only current peaceful way to change the direction of the United States. Politicians failed miserably at this process, bureaucrats have no concern for those they bleed, and even the highest court of the United States has members unwilling to follow the mandates required by the Constitution.

Things won't change, until people change. Expecting those that failed to protect the United States to suddenly be effective, and ethical, is madness.

The Phenomenon of Bureaucracy

Bureaucracy has an interesting effect on people. Over time, their intestines create a vacuum, which eventually pulls their head into their anal orifice. In spite of the lack of input, impacted waste, and total loss of productivity, the bureaucrat remains alive, and continues to draw a paycheck.

There really should be a telethon for this horrible condition. Unfortunately, I have the feeling most people don't really want to help bureaucrats, and wish they'd just continue the path created by the vacuum; and eventually disappear.
