Thoughts July 17, 2026

Apparently, the last administration was not only hiding information of foreign election meddling, their hiding made them complicit. In a perfect society, those involved will face harsh punishments, including the death penalty for treason. Will this happen? Probably not. Too many in Congress were involved, and they won't prosecute those in their club. 

A Special Brand of Dumbassery

 From reading some news reports, Governor Tim has basically declared war against the United States. When that was tried in the middle of the nineteenth century, there were a lot more people on board with the idea, but the outcome wasn't good. Even if he managed to get a substantial amount of Minneapolis to back him up, I doubt he could get even 1% of the citizens outside the city to join his side. Calling in the National Guard to keep the peace while the protestors continue preventing ICE from doing the job of removing illegal aliens is a foolish wish. The name "National Guard" doesn't describe Governor Tim's personal armed force because he decided to put on a crown. How do I know? It's the word "national". That doesn't describe "state" or "personal security". 

So, my suggestion at this time is to cut to the chase, announce insurrection, secure the state records before Governor Tim burns them all up, and start the prosecutions. Does that sound harsh? Of course it does. Harsh is something people like lying, pieces of crap politicians understand. I almost would pay for a video of them frog walking Tim Walz into jail. 

Lack of Accountability

I've been reading reports about how SNAP money was being paid to illegal aliens, with some being transferred to other countries. That's terrible, but what is most terrible is the fact those in charge of the money allowed it to happen. To me, that's treason. Regardless of whether there's a declared war, or not, giving aid to foreign countries at the harm of the United States economy can be described in no other way.

When The Slush Calls Markers

I've been watching the current effort to fund the government. Some are showing they're showing signs they're throwing logic to the wind, which looks like they're understanding their slush fund managers are calling in some markers. Of course, with some, it looks like political suicide, but that usually doesn't have as drastic of an ending that their benefactors can provide.

Maybe the First Big Fish

Years have passed, many in government created mayhem with their actions, and some managed to tightrope walk the line between the main political opinions. Bolton is one, and he managed to walk the tightrope for decades; but in the process, he became friends to nobody, couldn't be trusted, and now looks like a convenient sacrificial lamb to satisfy the lust of the masses. I'm thinking they'll insure his errors are sufficiently shown as egregious, he will be convicted, his sentence will be harsher than anticipated, and both political parties will be satisfied with the results. My hope is he will be the first in dealing with those that chose sedition, and the final number of convictions will be large. 

It's Been This Way A Long Time

There's some irritation, conjecture, finger-pointing, and denials about Joe Biden having advanced cancer. Pundits, and experts, are theorizing on how long it was known, and how the media was silent. It's no different that when FDR was in such poor health, he required a wheelchair most of the time, and few citizens knew about it, while the press kept quiet. It's the game of using the power of the pen to determine policy, regardless of how the power wielded by a compromised important officials can be used for personal purposes. 

A Problem That Needs Solving

From what I see, nobody that works for the Feds can be fired without permission. That's a problem, which is probably due to undue union influence, which is another problem that needs solving. Public sector workers should never be allowed to negotiate, since those that pay their salaries have too little input into the process. When you add the approval of anyone else, including federal judges, the most important task of any employer is removed. They don't control their position, since their position is basically feckless due to their inability to determine who works for them. It's like hiring a plumber to fix a drain they're unable to fix, but you have to keep paying them, continue with a broken drain, and you have to go to a judge to fire them. That's unacceptable. 

Dealing With Those on Their High Horse

I get tired of the condescending airs of too many people that have a duty to be honest, competent, and have an integrity to match their important positions. The media is one of the worst places to find these people. Supposed journalists, with their subverted education, have unrealistic views of anyone other than their peers, fail in their duty to factually describe their findings, have a disrespect for those that don't follow their narrative, or expose their shortcomings, and pontificate on opinions that are beyond their duty. 

Politicians are another. They ignore their constituents, lavish taxpayer gifts on their promoters, and fail to do the simplest of required tasks, such as balancing their budget. In their minds, we're supposed to defer to them, regardless of how feckless, dishonest, and crooked they are. 

Judges may be the worst. The law allows them drag their feet, place extreme financial burdens on the innocent, allow attorneys to make a mockery of the judicial system, ignore Constitutional mandates, and do so with the knowledge they are failing to provide everyone with the same rights. Simple legal proceedings require more money than many people have available, and the result is they're defeated before they ever have a chance. When you add the groups that subvert the judicial system with frivolous tort, and the judges don't throw them out of their courtroom, it's not hard to fathom how people become very wary of the legal system.

It appears some things are changing. Judges are being scrutinized, which is important. They have specific tasks and those wandering from their jobs should be taken to task for their errors. Legal relief shouldn't be only for the rich, or for those financed by groups with money provided by those that want to destroy the United States. That, and it shouldn't take years to solve many problems. 

The legacy media is faltering, which is a good sign. There needs to be integrity in news reporting, and a realization multiple sources of good information are more important than favorite news channels. There are good news sources, and they should be consulted instead of relying on the legacy media, or social media posts.

Politicians always have been a untrustworthy group. Finding the good ones is like digging through horse manure for grains of corn. As a group, they've proven they fail in the most important of tasks, and created more problems than they solve. I don't see much of a change, but know if you throw enough of them in prison for their criminal actions, the rest may get a clue.

 

My Suggestion

I think Harris, Biden, and anyone else that facilitated allowing illegal aliens into the Texas, should be prosecuted for treason. The description of the crime fits their actions, any of the guilty party with pardons are not protected from state law, and the maximum sentence of 20 years should be the punishment for those convicted. When convicted, send them to one of the prison farms. Some years in the hot sun should bake out some of the evil.

Clearing the Power Lines

We have a rural electrical co-op that furnishes our electricity. Since it's not owned by those wanting to please shareholders, keeping the right-of-ways clear is a priority. I'm guessing they keep about 10 feet on each side of the lines clear to the ground, and they grind the underbrush to right above the dirt. This allows the company access for maintenance, and keeps dangerous ground faults from tree limbs touching the cables during high winds. It's all good, and even though I live in a forested area, the service is better than when I lived in a rural area with few trees. That area was serviced by a huge electric company, and they gave a rodent's fanny about my concerns. 

From what I've been reading, a problem that might have caused the huge fires in the L.A. area was a lack of keeping the local grid cleared. Extra high winds, limbs touching the cables, and the sparks created more fires than could be handled. The result is what we see, and the utility company had its hands tied with regulations. Regardless of what was appropriate, it was prevented from an important job by government officials willing to sacrifice people for environmental concerns without merit.  

So, who do they sacrifice for the problem? My guess, the electric company will be found in fault and those most responsible will have no problem continuing their environmental madness. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'm thinking I'm not. Those willing to rebuild will find their electricity will come from underground cables, the expensive alternate construction will be beyond the means of an average homeowner, and large tracts of land will be available for the rich and famous. 

Why Blame Biden?

Regardless of what the media reports, Biden has been toast for at least half a decade. Medications,  manipulation by the media, and other subterfuge were the only reason he was allowed in public. Some even think most of his public appearances were by a double, and some photos I've seen make me wonder. 

Biden is not in charge, somebody else is pulling the strings, the alphabet agencies are hiding who it is, the media is part of the charade and Congress is sitting on their hands. Biden hasn't done anything, and blaming him is ridiculous. If Trump does his job, the curtain will be pulled back and some higher officials will find "three hots and a cot" is their future. It can't happen soon enough.

I'm Seeing Some People Mistakenly Expected Integrity

Biden pardoned his son. Some people appear to be shocked, or can't quite grasp the action. Integrity would demand Hunter bellied up to the bar and faced the consequences of his actions. Biden doesn't have that, most people know this, and expecting anything else is foolish speculation. 

A Problem I See Developing

If things go as planned by the next administration, there will be numerous people finding their time in public sector employment has ended. The problem I see is that a substantial number of them have absolutely no skill to offer to the private sector. Otherwise, they'll be faced with the same thing those in the private sector faced after the confiscatory taxes, inflation, loss of jobs, and bureaucratic punishment with regulations. I guess I should feel sorry for them, but after watching my career stumble over the years due to their efforts, my compassion is pretty thin. That, and the snarky comment to those that lost jobs that suggested they need to learn to code.

 If there is any justice, the first thing Congress should do is cut their pay by 30%. That, and take away the perks they abuse. Will they? Of course not. They created this mess, grew it for decades, and ignored their responsibility. They'll pontificate, promise things, act busy and collect their salary. That, and vote themselves a raise during the next session. 

Dancing Monkeys

The economy is terrible, but it's good. Most of the media chooses a side, and the reports they publish confirm their opinion. So, who do you believe? You can't trust most of the media, and politicians have to lie to stay in office. Samuel Clemens had a good quote about this: 

"There is nothing in the world like persuasive speech to fuddle the mental apparatus." 

Unfortunately, too many people have a malfunctioning mental apparatus, and fuddling is not really that difficult. The most educated have lost their ability to perform critical thinking, and they pontificate ideas influenced by money, power, or both.  The least educated are willing to accept their opinion because it's presented by self-appointed "experts". To make things worse, their dancing monkeys present sometimes erroneous "facts" as truth, and dare you to question their opinion. 

So. is everything terrible? It isn't for those that are blessed with resources that adapt to whatever the economy does. For those that don't have this blessing, their shrinking ability to acquire resources is leading to decision that are earth shattering. They have to accept less, watch investments lose value, put off retirement until they may have the ability to retire, give up their dreams and endure the increase in crime that follows economic downturns. To add insult to injury, they have to adapt, and pay, for the politicians, and bureaucrats, salary with benefits increase they decided they needed. 

It's hard to accept our society is now run, and financed, by those without integrity or morals. Maybe it always has been this way, but it doesn't make it easier to accept. 

So, He Bails

Biden is dropping out, which is no surprise. At the rate he was going, his ability to utter two intelligible words was an iffy thing, and even his supposed supporters were clamoring for him to leave. Harris is the supposed new candidate, which if things go like I think they will, will assume power after Biden is deemed unfit to lead. This will allow a glimpse of her "remarkable" leadership qualities to promote her electability. That, or they will pull a rabbit out of the hat, and come up with someone new who the media will promote to a level unseen in history. 

This is all theater. Thinking there is an orderly election process going on is unreal. It's a production, we're the audience, and the cost to watch is way too expensive for my budget. 

A Plethora of Screw-Ups

The attempted Trump assassination exposed many things, but more than anything else it exposed how the U.S. government is filled with screw-ups. The Secret Service looks like a group of bumbling trainees, which if my current assessment of most government entities is correct, that's exactly what Trump's detail was. When you add the fact the person that is running that show is woefully unqualified for the position, except for their vagina, I'm thinking many mid-size communities have a better security detail than Trump's on that day. It's how it is today. Government employees can't be trusted to be competent. They don't have to be. All they need for their job is either the correct skin color, or have the correct hardware between their legs. It's EEO madness, but it's definitely diverse, if you take out exceptionalism as an important part of employment.

For those in civil service that aren't as I've described, I mean you no disrespect. You know how it is, and I hope you don't lose your mind before you retire.

Their Comfortable Lives Explain Their Actions

High ranking elected, or public, officials live a life more comfortable than those that generate the taxes they consume and waste. They'll never muddy the water and jeopardize their positions by their own actions. It's the nature of humans and all experiments in government ever tried. The United States Constitution was written to control the damages of these people, but the slow degeneration of the laws demanded have eroded the authority to where it hardly exists.

Handwriting on the Wall

Nikki Haley has lost the backing of the Kochs. Otherwise, what has been an abysmal, long term waste of money is ending. Why they backed her is beyond me. She's all smoke and mirrors and a career politician that will do anything (including changing her name for political gain) for another chance to stand at a podium to try to convince people she's on their side. 

What Won't Happen

As bizarre as it may seem, and with the backing of those that obfuscate for hire, we won't see a debate between Trump and Biden. To a society that is intuitive, focused on what's right, and suspicious of those that become politicians, it would be more than necessary to decide on who receives their vote. Politicians usually only promise what they can't deliver, and know their time in office will be short if they can't show they have the leadership skills to do what's right; even if it requires cutting the waste of government spending. 

Biden is demented. Medically, that's "loss of cognitive functioning", and it's apparent. In a debate, the event would be a tragic, cruel event, showing the deceit of his acquiring the office of President of the United States. He didn't win the office legally, and regardless of his past, it's now obvious those so willing to sell their country out are using an old, feeble man to continue their criminal activities. While Biden should be punished for his past, his handlers should be punished for his present position. He isn't in charge, and those that are have spit on every U.S. citizen with impunity. 

So, we won't see a debate, and the efforts of those that handle Biden will be a macabre show of deceit. They don't care of the damage they caused. Those at the top will hope to escape prosecution (and probably will), and those at the bottom will become collateral damage. May justice be swift for those involved, and may the United States return to the constitution directed country as designed.

It's Not What It Seems

Anyone paying attention realizes there are tons of medication commercials on television. They show how "helpful" they can be, the importance of discussing your possible need for the medication with your doctor, and the professional commercials are obviously expensive. I've been suspicious for years; especially after the illegal, and immoral, actions of big pharmacy were allowed by government officials during the Covid debacle. This article gives insight into how the only best interests are the monetary gain, power, and continuation of both by those we are supposed to trust.
