In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

We'll See Where This Goes

News reports state there is a tiff between Trump and the Pope. It's about immigration, and from what I've read, the Pope thinks the time someone lives illegally in the United States should determine whether they stay, or not. This makes me wonder. There seems to be some irony with someone that lives in a fortress, surrounded by armed guards, and with complete autonomy about who lives there, to make statements about immigration. We'll see where this goes, but I doubt it will go anywhere good.

  1. Don't forget the wealth of the Church that could be donated to those poor illegals.

    1. Years ago, during a vacation, my mother asked a local why such wealth in gold in the churches wasn't used to help with the obvious poverty in parts of Mexico. The response, more or less, was they people needed the church as is. She didn't understand the lack of perspective, and neither do I.

  2. Well, when you consider that Catholic Charities is one of the main 'providers' for the illegals, that just 'might' have something to do with it...

    1. Such things remove the sanctity of a church, and place it in political activism. If there is an exemption from taxes, at that point it should be removed.

  3. In addition to all that sweet, sweet NGO money they're getting from Uncle Sugar- this Pope is nothing but a glorified Chicago Democrat.

    1. About ten years ago I talked with a property owner that would be affected by a drainage structure to be built adjacent to his commercial property. He was Catholic by faith, but met with others that felt the same about the politics of the Vatican instead of attending the church. I had the feeling they objected to providing money to what they felt was a political organization that promoted what they found immoral. With current actions known to be happening, I can understand their opinion.

On another note, I talked with a pastor at a church I knew was once Methodist. I told him I noticed they left the Methodist church. He responded: "No, the Methodist Church left us."

  4. Before ascending to the papal throne Robert Prevost was a consistent vocal opponent of Trump, his policies and conservatism in general. You can put papal robes on a commie but he's still going to be a commie.

    1. Many feel the papacy has been corrupted, and I believe the same.
