In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

When Things Go Real Bad

A Lear jet crashed in Florida. From what I've read on the internet, there were strong thunderstorms, the pilot sought a higher altitude, and somewhere after that the jet lost its horizontal stabilizers and hit the ground at a tremendous velocity. According to one opinion I read, due to the Lear jet design, drastic flight maneuvers can cause the horizontal stabilizers to tear away, which is a guaranteed loss of control. Strong updrafts, and downdrafts, can lead to few choices in maneuvers, and might be what caused the loss of the horizontal stabilizers.

It will probably be over a year before an investigation is complete, but from my vantage point, the weather was not weather to fly in; and whether the pilots didn't have good information, or just took a chance, will probably never be known.
