In California, people are foraging, and eating, toxic mushrooms. Such things happen, but it makes me wonder where these people were, when the constant warnings of such things always state there are deadly consequences when doing so.
A strong winter storm swept through the United States over the last few days. With media help, people panicked, bought enough supplies to clear retail shelves, and forgot that even if they had bare pantries, nobody would starve in the short period of time before snow melted. A few days of extra supplies would have been sufficient, but some will be throwing away moldy bread, sour milk, stale pastries, and have enough toilet paper to last until the middle of Summer. Some will have enough Vienna sausage to last until the middle of the next decade.
I wonder about people in general. Logic seems to escape way too many, and society is filled with those that are not only ignorant, they seem to relish their condition.
I'm not as clear on this shooting as I was with the Rene Good shooting.
ReplyDeleteI think a number of conservative commentators are either trying to look reasonable or actually do question the narrative.
Was the gun discharged when he fell (that model has been known to do that) signalling a threat, or was he legally carrying when he illegally assisted the protestor to resist arrest?
Is it legally carrying if you are behaving illegally?
If you have not brandished while engaged in that illegal behavior and not demonstrated a mortal threat to the officers involved, are they allowed to shoot you?
A lot of people are asking this.
I really do hope the agent was in the right.
In this situation, regardless of the validity of the shooting, even carrying a firearm with so many agents stressed to the breaking point is one of the most dangerous things someone can do. I can't fathom how the nurse - who is theoretically more astute - could be that foolish.
DeleteThere was no protest- as there was no permit to protest. So you can't call him a protestor. He was not legally carrying under state law as he had no ID of any kind on him including the state required firearms ID needed to carry concealed there. Feel free to dig more, going armed into these situations signals intent to commit crimes under most states laws.
ReplyDeleteThe coordinated harassment, and injury, of the ICE officers is now being exposed as much more than an organic protest. Whether something is done to destroy the network is to be seen. The only way I can see that happening is with ignoring legal proceedings and going rogue on those involved. I don't like the idea, but with politics as they are, it's becoming the only option to stop the subterfuge.
DeleteYeah. I remember hearing a guy from a big city in California (San Fran???) being stuck in the snow for two days, "My life was saved when I found some Taco Bell taco sauce packets!"
ReplyDeleteWho knew that life was so fragile that it could be saved by 0.25 ounces of a condiment?
The repercussions of hot sauce can not only remove any caloric boost of injury, dehydration is another danger.
