The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine....or so it's written. If it was a grist mill, the amount of corn being turned into corn meal wouldn't keep a rat alive. Somewhere, in the preponderance of justice, most all attorneys, judges, and prosecutors forgot justice isn't served if those harmed are bankrupted, or die of old age before justice happens.

Now the process is the punishment if you're innocent, and if you're guilty, you walk free. Madness.
ReplyDeleteIt's easier to prove an innocent person is guilty, when you have the media, prosecutors, and judges in your back pocket.
DeleteWe don't have a "justice" system. Never have. We have a LEGAL system. Concerned only with the application and implementation of bizarre, arcane and often contradictory laws. The main goal of this system is the transfer of wealth from one pocket to another with the denizens of this system siphoning off as much of that wealth as possible. If justice ever occurs in an American court room it's an accidental and unintended byproduct of the legal process.
ReplyDeleteIt's a terrible way to provide legal relief. Regardless of intentions, even the most honest can be bankrupted before justice is served.
