In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

Carter is in Hospice

I remember the Jimmy Carter years. The economy sucked, the Middle East was sent in turmoil by his actions, we had gas rationing, and the absurd idea of 55 mph was the best speed limit for the Nirvana theorized by the ecofreaks of the time made traveling tedious. It was the culmination of a corrupt media, crooked politics, extreme ignorance, and an experiment in civics that was destined to fail.

So, he's in hospice. His final time on this planet is now at hand, and while I don't wish him any suffering, I can't think of anything good to write about him.

  1. When he dies, it will be a tireless week-long or more of bestowed Sainthood heaped upon him by the democrats.

  2. You can't blame the 55mph nationwide speed limit on Jimmy Carter. It was implemented in 1974 when Nixon was president. It lasted through the Ford and Carter years until Ronald Reagan's time.

I remember when Reagan tried to get the speed limit back to the individual states. Places like New Jersey and Massachusetts, fought it tooth and nail. I remember thinking at the time: "Why do those people care what the speed limits in Montana and Wyoming are?"

    1. I didn't realize that. Texas had its own dabble with reduced speeds on major highways in the larger cities. Tests showed it created more pollution, and more traffic problems. They abandoned the process eventually.

  3. Carter has proven he is a fundamentally decent person. He was just a shitty POTUS. He subscribed to the lefts insanity thinking socialism could work. A victim of his own willfull political blindness. He did a lot of damage to the country while POTUS but his post office life has been spent actually doing good things for poor people. He's not a bad man. Just a crappy politician.

    1. Carter was a complete anti-Semite, but got good PR because most other anti-Semites in the media loved it.

    2. I dunno. His actions caused problems even a good man would recognize. He may have thought he was a good man, but his errors caused damage to millions. A man of integrity would have resigned.

  4. His admittance to hospice sure gave the media a "look squirrel" moment. When he passes, days of agonizingly boring coverage will turn the media into a circus of idiots.
