I get robo-calls from different supposed local numbers. The newest scam I find is on my voice mails. The recording asks if it is me and continues with "Just say yes". In a perfect world, these scammers would be caned 20 lashes and forbidden any electronic communications under penalty of death.
In Case You've Wondered
My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.
If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com
One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.
I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

I hate the recordings. Does no good to cuss 'em out.
ReplyDeleteIt's been an insidious path to this point of dealing with mindless machines.
ReplyDeleteI’m on my cell and if I don’t recognize the number, I ignore it. Mind you…that is a luxury of retirement. A working man HAS to take calls seriously because you never know who is on the other end. Fortunately I don’t have to care anymore
ReplyDeleteThat's how I am. I have voice mail. If it's an emergency, call 911.
DeleteMy voice mail doesn't even have my voice on it.
ReplyDeleteThat's the best way. In a perfect world, every unwanted call would place a dollar in my pocket.
DeleteI used to get calls daily asking to buy my house, how much do you want for it? I started telling them 2 million and finally the calls stopped. Mostly.
ReplyDeleteThey probably didn't want to buy it as much as stealing your information to take out loans in your name.
DeleteIf I don't recognize the number, I don't even answer it...
ReplyDeleteWhen I have a known number, I'll attach a name to it. That way I can screen important calls and leave the rest to voice mail.
DeleteWith AI any sample of your voice can used to produce a”Yes” response
ReplyDeleteYes it can, but without a sample from the telephone, there is nothing to work with.
DeleteIf you answer, just saying hello might well be enough
