In Case You've Wondered

My blog is where my wandering thoughts are interspersed with stuff I made up. So, if while reading you find yourself confused about the context, don't feel alone. I get confused, too.

If you're here for the stories, I started another blog: scratchingforchange.blogspot.com

One other thing: sometimes I write words you refuse to use in front of children, or polite company, unless you have a flat tire, or hit your thumb with a hammer.

I don't use them to offend; I use them to embellish.

We Bought Some Pizza Dough

Last week, my wife and I bought some pizza dough, while grocery shopping. Yesterday, we bought some fresh mozzarella, a good sauce in a jar, and pepperoni. Today, I fabricated a homemade pizza, which smells really, really good.

I can't wait.

It was good, but my exuberance led to too many toppings, which led to more of a pan pizza. Since we like it a little thinner, with a crispier crust, next time will be adjusted to accommodate.

    1. It's a little amazing how making a homemade pizza short circuits the thinking process. With me, the result is always trying to do too much, and not getting what I want.

  2. Ha! It is the bane of every home-rolled soft taco or burrito. I never get a full revolution. Exuberance.

    1. My wife made a homemade enchilada sauce last night, which we used to cover some tamales made by a local woman.

I was impressed, she was impressed, and even better: leftovers.

  3. We just buy "Red Baron" pizzas and put extra things on them. Not as good as home made but I hate doing dishes.

    1. Frozen pizzas are good, but they're never quite as good as some local pizza restaurants. Still, they're easy, and satisfying after the right amount of "doctoring".

  4. Sounds good. The last few times I got carry-out pizza it didn't agree with me. So, I have been making home-made pizzas on pita bread. It's a good size for one person and I can control the quality of the topping ingredients and the sauce. My favorite is 5 cheese: mozzarella, Parmesan, cheddar, feta and provolone. But I also like pepperoni with banana or cherry peppers. Now I want pizza!

    1. We've made pizza on flat bread. I think I like that better than a regular pizza. It's easier, tastes good, and a quick meal when the toaster over is used.
